Costumes
When designing and planning the costumes for the film, I relied heavily on mise-on-scene. For example, Superglue wears mostly white; this is due to the connection of the colour of glue, but also it relates to the idea of white symbolising perfection and purity, suitable for the hero of the piece.
Superglue, aswell as wearing white, also wears red items of clothing; this was inspired by the costume design of Superman, who is depicted wearing a red cape, pants and red 'S' symbol. I also decided on the colour red because it represents action, ambition and determination, all the required aspects of a hero.

24/4/15 - In today's session I met up with actors of the film to try out their costumes. Below is a photo of them trying on different costume items.
15/5/15 - Below is a photo of the same actors shown above, now in their final costume designs for filming.

15/5/15 - Filming
Today I continued filming more scenes for my film. For filming I used a canon camera, tripod and shotgun microphone. I originally used a clip-on microphone, but this create to many issues (e.g. the trailing wire which was a safety hazard). Below is a photo taken of me filing one of the scenes, shooting a low angle shot.
For filming, I was assisted by two actors. I originally planned to be filing three actors, but one of the actors cancelled short notice. Filming continued, but I did not work on any scenes involving that actor's character. I have decided that I shall work on these scenes at a later date, with a different and more reliable actor to take their place.
Once I had completed filming for that day, I imported the footage and started to edit it on Premiere, as evidenced below.

BBFC Rating
Below are the possible age restrictions/ratings a film may recieve according to the British Board of Film Classification.
From the information provided I believe that my short film, "Superglue!", that it would be classed as PG (Parental Guidance) Rating.
I believe this is although it is suitable for most audiences, the film does contain innuendos and double entendres which have sexual connatations which would not be suitable to present for a much younger audience. However, BBFC states that if the film has sexual content which is unlikely to be understood by a younger audience then it can still be certified as a PG film.
There is implied violence mentioned, but this is never shown, although their are moments of slapstick.

1/5/15 - Creating Properties/Props
In today's setion I created elements for costumes for the short film. They are pictured below. They include four grey semi-circles and a red letter 'G' shape. These will be sewn to the actors' costumes.
I have also created more props in the shape of scissors. This was achieved with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and cutting out the image from printed paper.
19/5/15 - Below is the completed version of the scissors prop, created by printing the image I created and them cut it out. After I cut it out I placed the paper on some card to make it more sturdy and solid and placed a safety pin in both pieces so it could move and operate like a real pair of scissors.

Work I have completed today - 17/4/15
In today's setion I started filming, filming all of Jake's scenes (Jake being one of the actors). Once I had completed filming I put the footage on Premiere and selected the best takes, removing footage errors.
Work completed today - 24/4/15
In today's setion I created some printed visuals/props, some of which are pictured below.
I then created other visuals using Adobe Illustrator to draw the basic design, before moving it to Photoshop to add colour and complete the design. These visuals have been saved and will then be added to the footage on Premiere.
For these visuals I was inspired by the text visuals used in vintage comic books and the original Batman T.V. show. Therefore, before I started working on the visuals, I looked at the images below on Google images as a source of influence.
I also watched some of the fight scenes from the original Batman T.V. series on Youtube, as these visuals featured heavily. Again, this served as inspiration for my own visual designs.

LO1 - Set Designs
Below are photos I took of locations that I felt would be suitable for filming in. Not all the sets can be seen within the final film (e.g. the first photo below) as there would have been something wrong with the footage or setting. Despite this, filming still took place in all locations/sets shown below.

SEGMENT SYNOPSIS AND HOW IT RELATES TO THE BRIEF
Superglue, a hero with glue (or office equipment) related powers, has been instructed to investigate a UFO heading towards Earth.
Flying into space, he sees that the UFO is a spaceship that resembles a large pair of scissors. Taken aboard the spaceship as prisoner, he finds out that the owner of the ship is Semi-Circle Man, his arch enemy. Semi-Circle Man explains that most villains fail in their attempts to take over the world, so using his scissor shaped spaceship he shall cut the world in half, that we he's more likely to take over at least HALF the world.
The world is then cut in half and it looks like Semi-Circle Man has successfully took over the left side of the planet. However, Superglue is able to escape* and he uses his glue powers to stick both halves of the Earth back together, sealing Semi-Circle Man inside.
*ironically using the a pair of scissors to cut his way out of the ropes constraining him. The scissors are part of a model diagram used by Semi-Circle Man when explaining his evil plans.
